Our House Cleanout Services

Whether you need one room cleared or a whole house emptied, here's what each service involves, what changes the job, and where your things end up.

Whole house cleanouts

This is the big one. We bring the crew and the trucks, go room by room, and take furniture, appliances, boxes and everything in between.

You don't have to be there for it. You can let us in, head off, and come back to an empty house. When we're done, it's left broom-clean.

What's usually included

  • Furniture, mattresses and appliances
  • Boxes, clothing, kitchen items and general household stuff
  • Garage, attic, shed and basement contents
  • Yard items like old patio furniture, planters and junk piles

What changes the scope

Every house is different, so the job depends on what's inside and how easy it is to get out. A few things tend to make the biggest difference:

  • How much stuff there is, and how full each room is
  • Stairs, basements and tight hallways that slow down carrying
  • How close the truck can park to the door
  • How much sorting you want us to do versus what's already decided

Moving and downsizing

Moving to a smaller place means a lot has to stay behind. Maybe it's your own move. Maybe you're helping a parent settle into a new home.

Show us what's going with you and we'll take the rest. We work around your movers and your closing date, so you're not stuck with a half-full house the night before you hand over the keys.

An easy way to handle this is to mark the keep items first. Colored tape or sticky notes work fine. Anything without a mark is ours to clear.

Rental and sale prep

Landlords and agents usually call us when a tenant leaves things behind or a house needs to be empty before listing photos.

We work fast and send photos when we're done, so you don't have to drive over to check. If the garage or yard needs a second pass later, we can come back for it.

If you manage the property from a distance, those photos matter. You'll know the place is ready without making the trip.

Donation drop-offs and recycling

A lot of what's in a house still has a life. Couches, dressers, dishes, lamps and other household goods in usable shape get set aside for local charities instead of going to the landfill.

Here's roughly how things get sorted:

  • Donate: usable furniture and household goods go to local charities.
  • Recycle: metal, electronics and appliances are pulled out and recycled.
  • Discard: only true trash goes to the transfer station.

Not everything can be donated. Charities often turn down items that are stained, broken or worn out, so those get recycled or hauled instead. If something matters to you, tell us and we'll set it aside.

How to get ready

You don't have to do much, but a little prep makes the day go smoother.

  • Take out anything you're keeping, or mark it clearly
  • Pull important papers, photos, keys and medications before we arrive
  • Check drawers, closets and pockets for cash, jewelry or keepsakes
  • Let us know about anything heavy, fragile or hard to reach
  • Make sure we can get in, whether you'll be there or leaving a key or code

Not sure where to start with the sorting? Our cleanout planning guide walks through it step by step, including what to keep, donate and toss.
